Read the full storyPittsburgh Water has updated its Arrearage Forgiveness Program, which lets residents with unpaid water bills clear their debt over 24 months. A $1,000 balance, for example, would have about $41.60 forgiven each month that payments are made, until it reaches zero. About 4,300 households living below 200 per cent of the federal poverty line were enrolled automatically as of September, and they only need to keep up with monthly payments. Customers can miss up to two monthly payments and stay in the programme.
